8-4-14.  President Obama’s remarks thanking Muslims for “building the very fabric of our nation” and claiming they were in part responsible for “the core of our democracy” have left many in and outside of Washington scratching their heads. But the Founding Fathers would find the comments even more baffling.  (In this 2009 speech our readers find how despairately close Europe is to becoming a part of the radical Islamist world.  America is making many of the same immigration mistakes — some even worse — than the Europeans now regret having made.  More here.  -dh)

4-14-14.  “Yes, America is in deep, deep trouble. The good news is that there is hope,” Mack said. “We do not have to stand by and watch while America is destroyed from within. If our counties, cities, and states and all local officers

keep their oaths to protect us from tyranny, we can win this battle to take our country back.”

American corruption, along with a departure from the Constitution and a culture resting on the foundation of Christian values and devotion to the omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, Holy Father God can have no good result: only pestilence, weakness, chaos and destruction.

Loss of freedom and even a holocost of genocide could happen here.

Absent vigilence and a return to God it will happen here.

1-2-14.  Wall Street Journal.  This past year will be remembered for many things, but let 2013 be hailed mainly for this: It was the year that the genius of George Orwell’s “Animal Farm” became clear in America. Efforts to centralize control in the name of “fairness” have led to a society that is ever more at the mercy of a federal power—one that decides who does and does not succeed. The winners are favored special interests, political cronies and wealthy lobbyists. The losers are everyone else.

I have invited any citizen to correct the facts I have presented for accuracy.
I am puzzled that you have not corresponded as a scientist with a factual response.
You have simply accused me of, “blaming the weather on the President”.   And, no, I have never, “blamed him for everything wrong in the world.”   It may be an effective technique to make fun of one’s opponent like you did today with those statements, but it is does not improve the body of knowledge or add to a constructive argument.
I know that you cannot enjoy this unhappy discussion and neither do I.  It is not for friends.
I hope you are well, too.

6-17-13.  Examiner.  A short documentary “Rampant INjustice Exposes Federal Abuse of Power” was released late last night by Jan Morgan of JanMorganMedia shows that between 2009 and 2011, the blatant trampling of the Constitutional rights of Americans during white collar crime investigations by the Department of Justice and the Criminal Investigation Division of the Internal Revenue Service, increased substantially, under the Obama administration.

6-12-13. Breitbart.  Among the hundreds of businesses raided by the IRS and Department of Justice, using paramilitary, gestapo like tactics, was Mountain Pure Water Bottling Company and Duncan Outdoors, Inc., both situated in Arkansas and Gibson Guitar located in Tennessee. Their stories are profiled in the documentary which has been up on YouTube since October 31 of last year. The abusive targeting practices of the IRS toward conservative organizations  have finally made the news,  but these stories need exposure too.

05-11-13.  Reuters via Schwab (Corruption of the Rule of Law).  The Internal Revenue Service apologized Friday for what it said were mistakes in targeting tea-party and other conservative groups for extra scrutiny during the 2012 election campaign but said its actions weren’t politically motivated.  “We made some mistakes,” Lois Lerner, head of the IRS tax-exempt-organizations division, told reporters. “Some people didn’t use good judgment. … For that we’re apologetic.”  04-19-13.  Subject: Battle of Athens, TN, Aug 1-2, 1946  —  This is a film production, but the incident really did happen. Athens is about 20 or 25 miles north Cleveland, Tenn.  Please watch this to the end. This is the real reason why we have the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.  A couple of years ago someone I know from Tennessee recounted a conversation with an old man who had been a boy at the time of the Battle of Athens. His father had taken a part in it. The man remembered how his mother had been up all night worrying about her husband. In the morning the man said that his father came home, put his shotgun behind the kitchen door and sat down to his breakfast, and no one in the family ever said another word about that night.   Battle-of-Athens  (From ?)

02-24-13.  There they go again, you take your eyes off the AARP for even a minute and you’re going to find the liberal organization up to no good. Latest case in point, a front-page story in the December 4 edition of the Washington Postexposed in detail how the AARP stands to lose hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue if Congress and the President reform Medigap, a proposal AARP has consistently lobbied against, despite earlier denials.

Under proposed reforms, seniors who purchase Medigap would pay lower premiums and the U.S. would save billions in healthcare costs. Despite these benefits, AARP opposes such measures because they not only negatively impact the group’s main source of revenue, but the personal income of their executives as well.

02-18-13.  USDA taxpayer funded cultural “sensitivity training”

Last May it was revealed that the USDA spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on cultural sensitivity training. Now, video of the shameful event has been released and you can hear government employees basically being taught to be racist; repeating bizarre claims such as the Pilgrims being illegal immigrants. Glenn calls it one of the worst videos he’s ever seen and says we should call Congress to get them to halt funding ASAP. 11-24-12.  Secret energy lab spawns million dollar govt employee

Tori Richards & Earl Glynn
watchdog.org
24 November 2012GOLDEN, Colo. – The federal government’s dream of a renewable energy empire hinges on a scrubby outpost here, where scientists and executives doggedly explore a new frontier.
If you live outside Colorado, you probably haven’t heard of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory – NREL for short. It’s the place where solar panels, windmills and corn are deemed the energy source of the future and companies who support such endeavors are courted.

National Renewable Energy campus
It’s also the place where highly paid staff decide how to spend hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars.
And the public pays those decision-makers well:  NREL’s top executive, Dr. Dan Arvizu, makes close to a million dollars per year. His two top lieutenants rake in more than half a million each and nine others make more than $350,000 a year.
But what is really going on there? Energy expert Amy Oliver Cooke drove out to the site, which looks something like Nevada’s Area 51 with its remote location and forbidding concrete buildings. NREL had started a construction project and Cooke wanted to see for herself. She didn’t get far: a man in an SUV seemingly appeared out of nowhere, stopped her car, and told her to leave.
“A beefy looking fellow told me, ‘It’s top secret,’ said Cooke, director of the Energy Policy Center at the Independence Institute think tank. “I said, ‘I’m a taxpayer and I want to see what you’re building’ and he said it was it was ‘top secret so we can bring Americans a better future.’”
With its bloated budget and overseen by a $533 million a year government-funded management company, Cooke isn’t buying it.
“NREL has given us two of the most significant boondoggles, one of them being ethanol and the other being (bankrupt) Abound Solar,” she said. “They were part of the team that pushed Abound Solar along. In fact, they wrote in March 2011 on their website how proud they were of their role in Abound Solar.
“Am I impressed with NREL? No, not really,” she said.
NREL’s taxpayer-funded management company has seen its budget more than double since 2006. That’s when one of its most ardent supporters, Rep. Ed Perlmutter D-Lakewood, was first elected to Congress. The lab sits in the middle of his district.
But Perlmutter’s ties go beyond merely promoting green legislation and lobbying his colleagues for NREL funds. He has received $12,670 in campaign contributions from executives of NREL and its management company, MRIGlobal, a company that describes itself as “an independent, not-for-profit organization that performs contract research for government and industry.” Perlmuter’s father has served as a trustee for MRI and MRIGlobal during the past decade. Between 2003 and 2005, Perlmutter was also a trustee. These positions were unpaid.
Perlmutter did not respond to phone calls seeking comment for this story.
FOLLOWING THE MONEY
Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, NREL started in 1977 as the Solar Energy Research Institute, a Jimmy Carter-era response to the 1973 Mideast oil crisis. Its budget, then about $100 million, was slashed during the Reagan era.
By the time Perlmutter was elected, NREL’s budget was $209.6 million. It increased steadily before ballooning to $536.5, a beneficiary of President Obama’s stimulus plan and a $135 million contract spread out over five years to construct a new science center. Its current $352 million budget is down slightly from last year’s $388.6 million.
From its inception, NREL has been managed by MRIGlobal, back then called the Midwest Research Institute.
To handle lab management, MRIGlobal partnered with Ohio-based Battelle Memorial Institute, which describes itself as “the world’s largest nonprofit research and development organization.” The pair formed Alliance for Sustainable Energy, a separate non-profit in 2008, for the sole purpose of managing NREL and installedNREL’s top executives as its directors.
Despite record federal debt, municipal bankruptcies and a nagging global recession, those executives enjoy pay packages that are out of reach of most Americans who pay their salaries. MRIGlobal and Alliance tax documents obtained by Watchdog show most earned well into six-figures:
·         Dan Arvizu, Alliance president and NREL director
2010: $928,069
2009: $691,570
2008: $652,159
·         Bobi Garrett, NREL senior vice president of Outreach, Planning and Analysis
2010: $524,226.
2009: $398,022
·         William Glover, NREL deputy lab director and CEO (retired)
2010: $557,571
2009: $407,361
2008: $315,465
·         Catherine Porto, NREL senior vice president
2010: $406,339
2009: $223,553
The budget to manage Alliance is mind-boggling — and rising. For 2010, tax documents show, Alliance received $532.9 million from the Department of Energy, a whopping $189 million more than they were paid in 2008.
In 2010, MRIGlobal’s tax return shows DOE funding of $104.8 million, while Battelle’s tax return reported $4.55 billion in government grants. Its activities included management of five national laboratories (including NREL) and operating as subcontractor at a sixth.
However, at least one expert who has studied NREL doesn’t see any problem with the fact that the agency is overseen by a management company.
“I have no problems with the contractors operating the lab. They would do a much more efficient job than the government,” said Nick Loris, an energy policy analyst with the Heritage Foundation. “It should lower the cost of these projects.”
But what Loris doesn’t like is the entire concept of placing the government in a role of making energy affordable. That should be a job for the private sector.
“It’s not the government’s role to make energy cheaper. There is no reason the taxpayer should subsidize this,” he said. “We’ve seen the failures when the government gets involved in these projects. If they are going to be successful in the marketplace, they wouldn’t need help from the government”
UNSUSTAINABLE LEVELS
In fact, the billions that have been siphoned into renewable energy have yet to produce a fraction of the promised return, Cooke claims.
Solar and wind still remain prohibitively expensive and not viable for general use as are corn and wood chips to fuel cars. Yet NREL labs continue to work to this end. Cooke predicts that numerous taxpayer-subsidized companies will go bankrupt in the coming years just as the overinflated housing market came crashing down.
And it’s not just the money, she said. It’s the environmental threat.
Solar companies
have been fraught with bankruptcy
“I’ll tell you what’s pollution,” Cooke said. “It’s solar panels and wind turbines abandoned — things with toxic chemicals in them,” she said. “We don’t know what’s going to happen to these things. What do you do with a farm of abandoned wind turbines that are 500 feet tall?”
Despite its bloated stimulus funding, there are signs of financial trouble at NREL. The company offered to buy out 100 jobs when its budget dropped between 2011 and 2012.
Perlmutter spokeswoman Leslie Oliver expressed concern about the buyouts, calling NREL the nation’s green energy “crown jewel” and a driving economic force, the Denver Post reported.
“What about next year?” Oliver said. “Where does this stop?”
On his website, Perlmutter blamed Republicans for the cuts and claimed NREL generates 5,500 jobs. Its direct workforce is listed at 1,700.
By all accounts, Perlmutter’s relationship with NREL will continue. He spent two years trying to pass legislation to give solar companies a break with bankers before successfully adding the language to the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009.
He is co-chairman of the New Democrat Coalition Energy Task Force, part of the Financial Services Committee. Perlmutter has leveraged that role to keep alive a 20-year-old energy tax credit to producers of wind technology.
That credit would have expired at the end of the year. But the Financial Services Committee produced a bill to extend the credit for another year, which carries a cost of $12 billion over the next decade, The Hill reported. It faces stiff opposition from House Republicans.
Meanwhile, as energy expert Cooke predicts, the green business is still shaking out unsustainable ventures. The Danish wind company Vestas, which has several Colorado production sites, announced on Nov. 7 that it will shed 6,700 jobs through the end of next year.
Who’s to blame for the industry’s troubles? Government subsidies? Poorly run companies? Insufficient demand? Foreign competition?
Perlmutter blamed the Tea Party.
“It is clean and it is the future of energy production,” Perlmutter wrote on his website. “Until the Tea Party took over this has always been a simple, noncontroversial tax credit.”

10-26-12  From our friend, Sunny Mojonnier: Who Owns America?

10-22-12.  Wonderful links:

  • http://www.stthomasmore.org/parish-clergepression and corruption they left – and sailed to America.Once the Pilgrims had established their Massachusetts Colony, however, they demanded the same religious conformity that they had escaped from.  The first Pilgrim to rebel was Roger Williams (1603-1683), who arrived in Boston in 1631.  He immediately began advocating freedom of religion and the separation of church and state.  There must be, he said, “a high wall of separation” between the “Garden of Christ” – one’s own religious views – and the “Wilderness” of the State. In 1635, Williams was convicted by the colony’s General Court of “sedition and heresy,” and banished.  By the spring of 1636, he founded the community of Providence, which expanded into the colony of Rhode Island, becoming a haven for persecuted folks like Baptists, Quakers, and Jews.Due to his own experience and his revulsion at the mass slaughter currently going on during the Thirty Years War in Europe, in 1644 he wrote a treatise entitledThe Bloudy Tenent of Persecution.  The English Parliament ordered it burned by the public hangman. In it, Williams condemned attempts to compel religious belief to be “the rape of the soul,” that “forced worship” had caused “oceans of blood” to be spilt, which is why “forced worship stinks in the nostrils of God.”The state, he maintained, had “no business” enforcing the “First Table” (1-4) of the Ten Commandments regarding the worship of God – only the “Second Table” (5-10) regarding civil obligations not to hurt other people (murder, steal, lie et al). “Liberty of conscience” is everyone’s God-given right.

“God requireth not a uniformity of religion to be enacted and enforced in any civil state; which enforced uniformity (sooner or later) is the greatest occasion of civil war, ravishing of conscience, persecution of Christ Jesus in his servants, and of the hypocrisy and destruction of millions of souls.”An enforced uniformity of religion throughout a nation or civil state, confounds the civil and religious, denies the principles of Christianity and civility, and that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.”

These words of Roger Williams, the founder of the doctrine of church-state separation, had a profound impact on America’s Founders – in particular James Madison, the primary author of the Constitution and its First Amendment, which states:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”
and Thomas Jefferson, author of Virginia’s Act of Establishing Religious Freedom, which declares (full text in link):
“Whereas, Almighty God hath created the mind free… the impious presumption of legislators and rulers, civil as well as ecclesiastical, who, being themselves but fallible and uninspired men have assumed dominion over the faith of others, setting up their own opinions and modes of thinking as the only true and infallible, and as such endeavoring to impose them on others, hath established and maintained false religions over the greatest part of the world and through all time”

It is because America’s Founders enshrined these principles of religious freedom at our country’s very inception that America has never suffered a religious war.  Jefferson would attribute (in 1802 while President) America’s religious peace to the First Amendment “building a wall of separation between Church & State,” using Roger Williams’ words of 158 years before.OK – interesting, Jack, you may be thinking, but why the history lesson?  What’s all this have to do with America’s fork in the road in 2012?  With the impending economic meltdown of the European Union and much of the entire global economy?  The odds of an economic conflagration like none of us have seen are growing by the day, and you’re talking about Church & State?

Yes, I am – because Jefferson is warning us right now about “the impious presumption of legislators and rulers… setting up their own opinions and modes of thinking as the only true and infallible, and as such endeavoring to impose them on others.”  Because Jefferson’s and Madison’s solution to preventing religious wars – Religious Liberty – is the solution to preventing the economic wars about to descend upon us.

That solution is Economic Liberty.  That solution is the Separation of Economy and State – for precisely the same reasons for the Separation of Church and State.  Such a separation – capitalism for real – is the only thing that will save the world from plunging into economic darkness.  Violently.

With Zero’s Osawatomie Speech, we have reached the fork in the road of America’s future.  The critical moment has arrived.  If you can stomach it, read the whole thing.  It is diabolically dishonest.  He is actually claiming his Marxist-Fascist values are those of America’s.  He has the mind-boggling demagogic chutzpah to claim that free market capitalism “doesn’t work – it has never worked.”

Free market capitalism – economic liberty – is the only thing that ever has worked to create widespread prosperity.  What has never worked in history is what Zero advocates: socialism, fascism, and the destruction of economic liberty by government rules, hamstrings, restrictions, taxes, and subsidies.

In Osawatomie, Zero came out of the closet, exposing his stark naked Anti-Americanism for all to see.  The President of the United States is not an American, not in his heart, not in his soul.  Rush Limbaugh called Osawatomie a Marxist attack on America, and he is exactly right:

“This is foreign. This is what we have faced from our enemies since our founding, this characterization of our country. If you just substitute the word ‘proletariat’ for every time he said ‘worker’ or ‘middle class’ in his speech, if you substitute ‘bourgeois’ or ‘capitalists’ for the rich, this same speech could have been given by Lenin a hundred years ago.”In fact, it is, my friend, and don’t doubt me, the same speech that Stalin always gave, that Mao Tse-tung always gave, that Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez and Kim Jong-il still give. Communist leaders around the world give this speech constantly.”

And Zero gave it two days ago.  The battle is joined.  He has declared war on his own country.  He has a swarming horde of allies in public workers, Occupy Wall Streeters, and other parasites who want to feed off producers.  They are fully willing to commit whatever pillage and violence is necessary to keep mainlining money stolen from producers into their veins.Make no mistake:  Zero is calling for a religious war upon creators of wealth.  The only way to stop it is Jefferson’s and Madison’s way applied to the secular religion of Marxist Fascism:  the separation of economy and state.

How is this to be done?

The first thing is to call for it.  It should be the rallying cry of the Tea Parties.  They sure have been quiet lately.  Are they still alive?  Comatose?  Deep asleep and snoring?  If Zero’s Declaration of War on America doesn’t wake them up, then nothing will.  If they can’t and won’t defend, loudly and publicly, economic liberty and free market capitalism now, then they are useless.

Next is for a GOP presidential candidate to call for it and make it a major campaign theme:

“You have a choice, folks, Marxism or Capitalism.  Compromises with Marxism are what have brought our economy down to where it is today, and Mr. Obama is promising to complete his Marxist task if reelected.”We are facing economic war in this country, which could be as violent as the horrific religious wars of the past.   Religious wars stopped when America created religious liberty.  I will stop the coming economic war by creating prosperity through economic liberty.

“I am a proud advocate of Capitalism – real economic freedom, not crony-corporate capitalism that doles out government subsidies and monopolies.   Mr. Obama is an arrogant advocate of Marxism – real economic slavery and parasitism.  Mr. Obama advocates state control and state sponsorship of business, just as tyrants of yore advocated state control and sponsorship of religion which resulted in religious warfare.

“What Mr. Obama is offering is economic warfare, poverty, and slavery by combining the economy and the state.   I am offering you economic peace, prosperity, and freedom by separating the economy and the state.  Which do you choose, America?”

Third will be to knock down the inevitable straw men Zero and the Enemedia will set up, that economy/state separation will cause anarchy, mass starvation, the end of life on earth, blah-blah.

We do in fact have religious liberty in America, and government keeps it within civilized bounds.  No Mexican cult is allowed to practice Aztec human sacrifice, Mormons can’t have polygamy.  The same with economic liberty.  Government is required for markets to function, for property rights to exist.  “Ownership” is a legal concept which only a government can provide, as distinguished from physical possession (which a thief has of something he stole).

Thus government sets basic rules, such as regarding ownership and contracts, and is the referee adjudicating them – staying out of the game otherwise.  Oh, and for “fairness,” “inequality,” “social justice” and other Orwellianisms of the left, just provide Walter Williams’ definition:

“What’s fair, equal, and socially just is:  I get to keep what I earn, you get to keep what you earn.  No problem.”

We and America are in the game of our lives, the Mother of all Super Bowls.  We can’t win by playing defense.  We have to go on the offense.  We have to be Pro-Capitalist, Pro-Creative Destruction, Pro-Personal Responsibility.  Our opponents are religious fanatics.  They worship the Church of the State.  Their religion is the State.  Ours is not.

The Constitution prohibits the establishment of a State Religion, for compelling historical reasons. For equally compelling reasons, we need to prohibit the Religion of the State itself.  We must separate the economy, like religion, from being state-run.  That is the only thing now that can save America – and America is the only hope of the world.

2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
    Incomes into the Program
    ,

    Now 7.65%
    on the first $90,000
3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,

    No longer tax deductible

4.) That the money the participants put into the
    independent ‘Trust Fund’
     rather than into the
general operating fund, and therefore, would
only be used to fund the Social Security
    Retirement Program, and no other
    Government program, but,

Under Johnson the money was moved to
    The General Fund and Spent

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed
    as income.

    Under Clinton & Gore
Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are
now receiving a Social Security check every month —
and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of
the money we paid to the Federal government to ‘put
away’ — you may be interested in the following:

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the
independent ‘Trust Fund’ and put it into the

A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically
    controlled House and Senate.

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social

Senate, while he was Vice President of the  US

Q: Which Political Party decided to start
    giving annuity payments to immigrants?

    AND MY FAVORITE:

    A: That’s right!

Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,
began to receive Social Security payments! The
Democratic Party gave these payments to them,
even though they never paid a dime into it!

    ———— — ———— ——— —– ———— ——— ———

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA),
the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!

And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of
awareness will be planted and maybe changes will
    evolve.
    But it’s worth a try.
How many people can YOU send this to?

    THE HEART OF DARKNESS

    Dr. Jack Wheeler
    To The Point

Monrovia, Liberia.  This is a horror story – far grimmer than anything Joseph Conrad ever imagined, much less experienced when he captained a steamboat on the Congo River in the Belgian Congo in 1889.  Conrad’s famous novel, Heart of Darkness, was fiction and only very loosely based on fact.  This story is true – and it’s not from the 19th century, it’s contemporary.

Steel yourself, because we’re in for a stomach-turning rough ride.  How human beings can be capable of such evil seems inexplicable.  It is not true that all of us are so capable – Conrad was wrong about that.  Very wrong.   Yet enough people are to make this a cautionary tale, as the odds of a maelstrom in our land mount along with those of Zero’s reelection.  It was such a maelstrom that recently engulfed West Africa.

The country of Liberia is unique in Africa, founded in the 1820s by American freed slaves under the auspices of the American Colonization Society.  This was a group of philanthropists such as Henry Clay and Charles Mercer, who offered to repatriate freed slaves back to Africa if they desired.  The support of President James Monroe enabled the settlement of several thousand freed slaves, who formally founded The Republic of Liberia 1847, with a constitution and government structure based on America’s, and the capital named in honor of President Monroe – Monrovia.

The colonists called themselves Americo-Liberians, immensely proud of their American heritage, with an Antebellum South lifestyle that included wearing top hats and morning coats, and living in homes with columned porches.  Their party, the True Whig Party, ruled Liberia for over 130 years.  Then, in 1980, the descent into madness began.

Liberia was flourishing in the 1970s under President William Tolbert, the grandson of a freed slave from Charleston, South Carolina.  Firestone Tire’s enormous rubber plantation plus massive high-grade iron ore exports from the Bomi Hills had the place booming.  But on the night of April 12, 1980, 17 soldiers led by a 28 year-old master sergeant, Samuel Doe, broke into the Executive Mansion, grabbed President Tolbert out of bed, shot him in the head, gouged out his right eye, and disemboweled him.

Doe was an uneducated bumpkin with a two-digit IQ from Liberia’s most primitive tribe, the Krahn.  He had no ideology.  All he cared for was power and money.  He had anyone who criticized him killed.   When the US offered him $80 million in aid to stand against the Soviets, he happily accepted – and was honored with a visit to the White House to meet President Reagan in 1982.  Doe continued slaughtering opponents and engaging in massive corruption.  No complaints from Washington.

On Christmas Eve in 1989, an Americo-Liberian with a degree in economics from Bentley College in Boston, Charles Taylor, snuck into Liberia from the Ivory Coast with 100 armed men.  Taylor had been schooled in guerrilla warfare at Muamar Ghaddafi’s World Revolutionary Center in Libya, the“Harvard for Tyrants” responsible for training and placing a number of African despots in power.

Taylor had plenty of money and weapons from Gaddafi to recruit followers.  His contribution to the history of bloody insurgency was to recruit children – illiterate kids from the bush as young as eight years old – into “the Kalashnikov lifestyle” of getting high on a mix of amphetamines, cane alcohol, and marijuana, to become psychopaths killing anyone they were ordered to without the slightest hesitation or remorse.  The more heads they cut off, the greater the atrocities they committed, the more they were promoted in Taylor’s growing insurgent army.

As Taylor conquered more territory, one of his commanders, Prince Johnson (Prince being a boy’s name in Liberia, not a title) formed his own group to attack Monrovia.  On September 9, 1990, his forces captured Samuel Doe.  Johnson had Doe’s torture interrogation and execution videotaped (it’s on YouTube).  As Johnson sips on a Budweiser beer, he calmly orders, “Cut off one ear.”  A knife slices it off as Doe screams. Then the other ear is sliced off.  The next day, Doe’s mutilated body was paraded around Monrovia in a wheelbarrow.

Liberia disintegrated into all-out factional-tribal civil war.  A group of West African countries formed a “peacekeeping” force led by Nigerians calledEcomog – which, thanks to Nigerian soldiers’ looting and pillaging, was dubbed by Liberians as Every Car Or Moving Object Gone.  They kept Monrovia. Taylor seized the Bomi mines and the iron ore port of Buchanan, with British mining companies paying him $10 million a month to get the stockpiled ore out, while French companies paid him millions for timber.  The rest of the country was murderously anarchic.

Taylor quickly became the richest warlord in Africa.  Yet that wasn’t enough.  Right across the border in Sierra Leone lay the fabulous alluvial diamond fields of Kono.  Taylor went to see his buddy Gaddafi in Tripoli to support, with money, weapons, and men an effort to seize them.   Gaddafi said he had just the guy:  a cashiered corporal in the Sierra Leone army whom Taylor knew from guerrilla training at the World Revolutionary Center, Foday Sankoh.

Sierra Leone was a British colony the Brits had turned over to a Big Man autocrat named Siaka Stevens who, by the time he left the scene at age 85 had amassed a fortune of $500 million and left the country completely bankrupt.  As the government collapsed, it was ripe for the taking.  On March 23, 1991, Sankoh led a group of several dozen fighters from Liberia, armed and financed by Taylor and Gaddafi.  They called themselves the RUF, Revolutionary United Front.

Within weeks, by slaughtering anyone in authority, from chiefs and village elders to traders and teachers, Sankoh’s RUF seized the Kono diamond fields.  Taylor proclaimed Sankoh to be the “governor of Sierra Leone.”  To maintain control, Sankoh also abducted and forcibly recruited children, who as part of their drugged indoctrination, were often required to kill their own parents. Half of RUF fighters were 8 to 14 years old, girls and boys.

As recounted in Harvard for Tyrants above, together, Taylor and Sankoh “pioneered their signature atrocity in the 1990s — the amputation of the arms and legs of men, women, and children… Their atrocities were backed by Gaddafi, who routinely met with Taylor and his closest associates to review the progress of the conflicts and supply weapons.”

Sankoh had no political strategy whatever, just brute terror and force.  After gaining control of the $300 million traffic in diamonds – which, because of the mass slaughter, became known as Blood Diamonds – in 1994 his RUF seized the bauxite (aluminum ore) mines, the world’s largest (Sierra Leone has close to half the world’s bauxite reserves).  To keep them, he ordered his child fighters to indiscriminately chop off the hands, arms, and feet of villagers in the region.

When the RUF marched into Freetown, Sierra Leone’s capital, in March of 1997 the Nigerians invaded and captured Sankoh.  The RUF launched “Operation No Living Thing,” hacking to death anyone in Freetown they could find.  The savagery went on for over two years, until the Nigerians gave up and offered a peace deal in July 1999, with Sankoh made vice-president and keeping the Kono diamond mines.

When the RUF refused to cease its atrocities, Britain finally moved in with full-on military force in May, 2000.  Sankoh was imprisoned, and the RUF disintegrated.  Sankoh had been responsible for over 75,000 murdered, countless thousands mutilated, and some 70% of the entire population homeless.  While awaiting trial for war crimes, he died in a Freetown prison in July 2003 – supposedly of a stroke.

As monstrous as Foday Sankoh was, Charles Taylor was worse.  The civil war he conducted went on for seven years.  Of Liberia’s population of 2.5 million, 200,000 were killed and over one million made refugees with their homes and villages burned to the ground.  When Taylor came out on top, the UN capitulated and under its auspices held presidential elections in July 1997.

Believe it or not, Taylor’s actual campaign slogan was, ” He killed my ma, he killed my pa, but I will still vote for him.”  He was elected president with 75% of the vote.

Taylor had threatened to renew his campaign of wholesale slaughter if he wasn’t elected.  From being the richest warlord in Africa, he now was the president of his own country.  And a second civil war in Liberia promptly began.  A collection of anti-Taylor factions sponsored by neighboring Guinea, advanced on Monrovia raping and looting on the way.

Taylor steadily lost ground, with the forces against him now supported by Britain and the US.  When the Marines from the 26 th MEU landed in August 2003, Taylor resigned the presidency and was sent to luxury confinement in Nigeria. Other rebel factions were kicked out. The UN launched a massive operation to stabilize the country.

Elections were held in 2005, with a remarkable woman, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, becoming the first female head of state in Africa.  For her efforts to put Liberia back on its feet, by 2010 Newsweek magazine designated her as one of “ten best leaders in the world.”  In 2011, she was awarded theNobel Peace Prize.  She was reelected president late last year.

Charles Taylor is today in prison in The Hague, Netherlands, for a war crimes trial.  The verdict is scheduled to be announced next month (April 26).  Prince Johnson not only remains at large, but is an elected member of the Liberian Parliament.

So – what does this horror story of the depths of depravity to which human beings can sink have to do with us?  Surely, Americans, no matter what their ethnicity or ideology are not capable of such evil, yes?

Although it was a century and a half ago, it’s worth recalling that Americans slaughtered each other by the hundreds of thousands in the Civil War.  More specifically, Sherman’s March to the Sea was directed at civilians, and Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation was designed to spark freed slave attacks on Southern white women whose husbands were off fighting the war (the Governor of New York, Horatio Seymour, denounced it as “a proposal for the butchery of women and children”).

Today, we hear much talk of a “Second American Revolution.”  Our freedoms are being systematically stolen from us by an increasingly fascist government that recognizes no constitutional limits to its power.  Our economy and livelihoods are being destroyed, with beyond-astronomical debt about to create hyper-inflation wiping us out.

And there is a new massive division between Americans.  It was North-South in the Civil War.  Now it is Producer-Parasite, Maker-Moocher, taxpayers who work and produce vs. those who get government subsidies and paychecks.  On the one side of this divide are gun owners with hundreds of millions of guns and billions of rounds of ammo.

On the other side are those who advocate and engage in violence – with the Demagogue Media, the Demagogue-Democrat Party, and demagogue race hustlers egging them on.  The black racist media frenzy regarding Trayvon Martin is the latest example.  Race-baiting, guilt-mongering, demagoguery, and threats of violence are all the Democrats and their moocher allies have left.

We are well aware of what will happen to our country if Zero wins in November – the disaster will be catastrophic.  Yet we must also be aware of what might happen if Zero loses.  What Heart of Darkness might emerge?

Zero’s defeat would signal that a majority of voters don’t care about the Race Card anymore – and that’s the Dems’ only card.  It will also signal the end (or at least the start of the end) of the Moochers’ Gravy Train and the Entitlement Society.  The odds are high that violence in “inner cities” and by public union workers will explode.

We can say, well, we have the guns.  George Zimmerman had a gun, and used it when he was viciously attacked by Trayvon Martin.  Which one is being demonized, which one sanctified?

America is not Africa, however much Zero is trying to Africanize it.  It is not Liberia or Sierra Leone.  Yet history teaches that a Heart of Darkness may lie within most any society. Ask the Germans.  Normally, it is dormant.   One sure way to awaken it is to deny its existence, to ignore any sign it may be aroused from its slumber.

Zero’s defeat in November is not enough.  It will only be the end of the beginning of America’s rebirth.  Hearts of Darkness will do their best to abort that rebirth.  We must make sure they fail.

Last Sat. Nan and I attended a CFACT SoCal show at the Joan Kroc Center on the UCSD campus and arranged for Lord Monckton’s ‘Global Warming Fraud’ presentation .
The global warming/climate change scam is used to facilitate UN Agenda 21.

The theater was packed with patriots and Lord Monckton was given several standing ovations.
First, CFACT’s Warren Duffy gave an excellent presentation on the UN Agenda 21 inspired California Cap and Trade Bill AB-32.
Then Lord Monckmon gave a ‘Global Warming Fraud’ presentation like this one:

The folks who are getting the free stuff don’t like the folks who are paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for the free stuff can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff.

The folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop. And the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now… the people who are forcing the people who pay for the free stuff, have told the people who are RECEIVING the free stuff, that the people who are PAYING for the free stuff are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.

So… the people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced they need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff and giving them the free stuff in the first place.

We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this. All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere between 200 and 250 years after being founded. The reason?

The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.

The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 236 years ago. The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free stuff. We have one chance to change that in 2012. Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as we know it.

Friday, 09 December 2011There is a genre of historical fiction writing called Alternate or What-If History.  Its purpose is to focus on one of history’s critical forks in the road, and by speculating on what might have happened had a different fork been taken (e.g., if Lee had won at Gettysburg or if Booth had missed) it can advance our understanding of what did happen.

It can only be useful in that regar
