The Gloves Come Off: We Accept That Obama Fosters America's Destruction (Energy Issues Play Role)
Wall Street Journal (7/12) reports, “The really odd moment came when Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said in a statement that he was looking to the commission for information that could inform the administration’s position on halting deepwater drilling. Salazar’s statement stunned the commission’s two co-chairmen, William K. Reilly and Bob Graham, who said they had been assured by Salazar’s office and the White House that giving advice on the moratorium wasn’t their job. “We’re 10 minutes old,” Reilly told an audience in New Orleans, where the commission held its first hearing. “The idea we’d have a near-term responsibility to make recommendations on policy was not our understanding [of the panel’s mission] and is not consistent with my most recent conversation with [Interior Deputy Secretary] David Hayes, who said the Interior Department didn’t look to this commision .jpg "FRAN ULMER")
for advice” on the matter. Graham, speaking to reporters after the hearing, said he too was “confused” by Salazar’s statement. He said he and Reilly plan to go back to the Interior Department “to try to clarify what is our responsibility and how we’re going to carry it out.” (Comment: Last week we attended a meeting with one of the Commissioners, our own UAA Chancellor Fran Ulmer {NGP Photo}. The reason we were so agitated that the attendance last week was so weak, is what we perceived to be the importance of the Commission. Indeed, its primary role is to establish a pretext for doing exactly that which Obama wants, "to develop options for guarding against, and mitigating the impact of, oil spills associated with offshore drilling, taking into consideration the environmental, public health, and economic effects of such options...." If Co-chairmen Reilley and Graham didn't get it before, they better realize now that their role is to give Obama a third party plan whose end product will be the further reduction of domestic energy production, increased energy prices, greater flows of national wealth to oil exporting nations, further debasement of our currency, the massive exporting of energy industry jobs and expertise and a delayed period of economic recovery for the country. -dh)

Department of Interior Press Release: Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar (NGP Photo) today directed the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEM) to issue new suspensions of deepwater drilling on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), saying a pause is needed to ensure that oil and gas companies first implement adequate safety measures to reduce the risks associated with deepwater drilling operations and are prepared for blowouts and oil spills. Shallow water drilling activities that use different technologies do not present the same type or level of risks as deepwater drilling operations and can continue to move forward if operators are in compliance with all safety and environmental requirements, including new safety and environmental requirements implemented through recent Notices to Lessees. Production activities in federal waters of the Gulf are not affected by the deepwater drilling suspensions. “More than eighty days into the BP oil spill, a pause on deepwater drilling is essential and appropriate to protect communities, coasts, and wildlife from the risks that deepwater drilling currently pose,” said Secretary Salazar. “I am basing my decision on evidence that grows every day of the industry’s inability in the deepwater to contain a catastrophic blowout, respond to an oil spill, and to operate safely.”

Today we realize and accept that we are out of patience with and suspicious of every single act of the Obama Administration. At first we thought Obama's decisions (i.e. closing our Guantanamo Bay detainment facility), flowed merely from well-intended inexperience and incompetence.
Then, with every succeeding decision pointing toward the socializing of America--and disassembling of our freedoms--we are forced to accept reality.
From our Alaska energy perch, we see that every single decision Obama makes is bad for the country and we then began associating bad energy decisions with harmful decisions of every kind: 'stimulous', 'porous borders', attacking Arizona, encouraging 'Black Panther' outlaw behavior, debasing states rights, non-stimulous stimulous legislation, expropriating financial and auto industry assets and leadership, creating an unsustainable weight of opposition against America's domestic energy industry, etc.)
There is no light at the end of an Obama tunnel, only annihilation of the American way. A pack of Administration socialists, communists, eco-nuts and incompetents is leading the country toward oblivion by coercing Congress' democrat majority and the mainstream media loyalists to help them curtail 200 years of American exceptionalism.
Nevertheless, we always want to maintain accuracy and objectivity in this website. We invite readers to provide alternative perspectives. Even now, as convinced as we are at the intellectual dishonesty of the Obama Administration and its utter disregard for American values, our constitution and history, we are open to criticism ourselves. Where are we wrong? How does the list of affronts to America in the lower left column not point to the destruction of our country?
Absent your correction, we shall no longer pretend that the 'left' is honest and 'well intended'. This is the end game. This is it. It is time to be realistic and take a stand. From now on, we are pursuaded by facts and reality that "Left" means communism and loss of freedom and "right" means protecting the values guaranteed by our Constitution.
Thank you for sticking with us, for caring, for counseling us during these troubled times. Let us work toward America's economic and social and spiritual recovery as the November election approaches with a dramatic swing back to basic American values in wake of the 2012 elections. -dh
